Cirebon and beyond.

Hello world, it's PritiMama here!

First things first, my apologies for not writing sooner, you wouldn't believe the trouble I have encountered with technology here!! I was seriously contemplating not posting anything....so much for making your life easy! But thankfully I am very resourceful, and found a way Anyways enough of that, on to the fun stuff!

So our trip started off to Cirebon, which was a 6 hr road trip from Jakarta. Let me tell you even though the road is along the coast, the scenery is bland. There is also nothing to do in Cirebon, it is more of a stopping point before heading out into the mountains or to the north coast Islands.

Here is my little man, who was an amazing companion traveler. Kids were all set up with movies, blankets, games and of course the best babysitter...my iPad! Traveling in luxury!

As I mentioned there was not much to do in Cirebon, but the kids being as resourceful as kids can be, found some friends to keep them company.

Yup that's a grasshopper. The kids both took one as a pet each, caring for them and feeding them. Well at least they were kept busy.

Our origninal plan was to drive to Indramayu on the North Coast and go to Pilau Biwak. Unfortunately we had to change our plans as the weather was not cooperating and the boats to the island were grounded (well at least the smart ones were).

For more info on this island here is the link I used to find out more http://visitpulaubiawak.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2011-05-23T17:13:00+07:00&max-results=4#PageNo=2

So I found out that the best time to travel here and to the other north Islands, Pulau Karimunjawa, is from May to August. This is in the middle of dry season so all the boats are able to cross. For more information for this area contact my amazing guide Yono, his information is in the about me section of this blog.

For those of you that are interested in visiting the North Islands but don't want to do the boring drive to Semarang, you can take a flight. Air Asia flys to Semarang and you can arrange for transport to the island from there. The island hosts a beautiful Marine national park and has some of the best diving and snorkeling around. I am planning on heading here sometime in May. So keep watching my blog for this trip!

Since we had to change our plans we decided to head South to the white sandy beaches of the South Coast of Java. Before that we did a stopover in the Mountain Resort of the Baturaden, north of Purwokerto in Central Java.

Coming up in my next blog....The Mountain Resort of Baturaden, Central Java.

Location:Cirebon, central java.

Hello World!

Ok...so I have gone and done it...I have officially started a blog!
Thanks to the encouragement of my lovely family all over the world, and my posse of traveling friends with and without kids I have done what they suggested and finally started a blog to follow our adventures.

This adventure that we will be taking you on in the next few weeks, will have us going across the Island of Java in Indonesia.  So far all I know is that tomorrow I will be in Cirebon. Which is an 8hr drive from Jakarta.

Oh did I mention that my companions on this trip will be my precocious naturalists son Davin, who is a mere 5 years old going on to 50, and my "I told you so" three year old daughter, Evasha.  This is going to be "oh so fun"....

Together we are going to travel across the island and find the best beaches, natural parks, wildlife, hot springs and volcanoes.  We have 2 weeks and no set plans! I hope to update everyday so that you can enjoy the trip with us.

See you all tomorrow in Cirebon..
Slamet Jalan!
